The Graduate School Life Sciences and Health (GS LSH) enables synergies between Research-Teaching-Innovation actors and students by promoting exchanges between these communities within Graduate programs. The GS LSH is organized in 10 disciplinary and/or thematic graduate programs that bring together Master's and Doctoral programs and Research teams. In addition, a transverse MD-PhD type graduate program will be dedicated to obtaining both a PhD & a Doctorate degree in Medicine.

The GS LSH is open internationally with 2 M1 and > 9 M2 curriculums taught in English.

Doctoral school Oncology: Biology, Medicine, Health

The Doctoral School of Oncology, Biology, Medicine and Health is monothematic and covers all aspects of oncology.

The Doctoral School is based on the scientific and medical activities of the 80 PhD Student Reception Teams (EAD) on several sites (Gustave Roussy, CEA, Institut Curie Paris et Orsay, AP-HP, ENS de Cachan, Weill Cornell Medical College, Institut Cochin, Luxembourg Institute of Health and the University of Versailles St-Quentin) and is structured around four main axes:

  • Fundamentals of Oncology

  • Genetics and epidemiology

  • Pharmacology and new therapeutic approaches

  • New methods of biological and clinical investigations (including imaging)

Placed under the supervision of Université Paris-Saclay, the Cancer, Biology, Medicine and Health doctoral school is part of the "Life Science and Health" Graduate School of Université Paris Saclay, and is attached to three academic institutions: Université Paris-Saclay (via the component of the Faculty of Medicine), the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin and the Université de recherche Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL) is co-accredited.

Doctoral school Biosigne: Signalling and integrative networks in biology

Thematic framework of doctoral school Biosigne

The doctoral school "Neurosciences, Immunology, Endocrinology, Signaling" (BIOSIGNE) brings together research teams studying signaling and communication mechanisms in biology, and in particular in the fields of Neuroscience, Endocrinology, Neuroendocrinology, Reproduction and Immunology. Research work of the teams covers all aspects of the living, from the molecule to behavior.

Challenges

Strengthen the attractiveness of the Paris-Saclay doctorate

    Internationally by developing partnerships with other European or international universities, and by facilitating the welcoming of foreign students. If a candidate is foreign, documents may be written in English. In the framework of the Doctoral School's policy of national and international opening, the annual competition for allocations is open to all candidates, irrespective of the origin of their Master's degree or equivalent ;
  Locally for Master students and engineering students ;
  Develop the doctorate by validating the acquired experience.

Diversify job opportunities for PhDs

    Promote access for PhD students to the newest research capacities and state-of-the-art technologies
  Increase the expertise of doctoral students in terms of research valorization and entrepreneurship
  Provide information to doctoral students on the professions accessible with the doctorate.

Doctoral school Structure and Dynamics of Living Systems

The goal of SDSV is to train doctoral students by providing them with the best tools to advance their careers, whether in academia or the private sector.

Under the auspices of the University of Paris-Saclay, the doctoral school Structure and Dynamics of Living Systems (SDSV) is affiliated with three academic institutions: the University of Paris-Saclay (formerly Paris-Sud), the University of Évry-Val-d’Essonne, and the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin. Additionally, Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL) University is co-accredited.

The scientific scope of the SDSV doctoral school spans molecular, quantitative, and population genetics, genomics, microbiology, cell biology, developmental biology, molecular evolution, structural biology, and virology. There is also a growing emphasis on systems and synthetic biology and interdisciplinary research integrating chemistry, physics, mathematics, and computer science.

A key approach in SDSV’s scientific training is the integration of experimental methods with in silico (simulation) and theoretical (modeling) approaches. This combination extends from genetic sequences to population studies, utilizing biological models from all major groups of living organisms.

This diversity of methodologies is a significant strength of SDSV, leveraging the extensive expertise of its affiliated research units. Such multidisciplinarity is crucial for fostering an integrative understanding of fundamental biological questions, such as genotype-phenotype relationships and the incorporation of epigenetic phenomena into the dynamics of life, whether at cellular, developmental, or evolutionary scales.
